Before 19th parliament election maximum German believed that Angela Merkel would win for the fourth term as a Chancellor of Germany. Different survey organizations also published their report in favor of Angela Merkel. At present every survey, opinion and belief is almost true. Finally she smiled the victory laugh as a Chancellor of Germany for the fourth term.
She has some extraordinary qualities in leadership. One of main causes of her popularity is that already she has been capable of making herself a dominant leader of Europe beside her own country. On the other hand, there is no opposition leader in Germany as dominant as Angela Merkel who can fade her image. Most of the Germans believed if British coukd leave EU because of BREXIT Germany will be non-rival leader of EU. At this moment, it seems that there is no leader who can challenge Angela Merkel in Europe.
Remember here, pre election situation was---the supporters have increased for the popularity of Angela Merkel. But popularity of Angela Merkel has not increased by her party Christian Democratic Union (CDU). But after election, alliance of Angela Merkel has got 14 percent less supporters form the previous one. Decision of Angela Merkel about Syrian refugees had not fully matched with other members of her own party such as the issue of gay marriage validation.
Other causes behind the victory of Angela Merkel are, at last she had taken some efficient policies to control economic depression. She did not give a lot of recession on economy of Germany. With the same hand, she had coped with bad economic situation of Europe.
In the face of criticism she had interfered the economy of Greece to reform EU. Loan support is also provided. Many experts said Germany had been profited by giving loan to Greece. After all she is now a dominant leader of Europe.During ruling time of Angela Merkel unemployment rate is decreased about domestic economy and internal production has been increased. Export revenue increased. According to the European Union, at present unemployment rate in Germany is 3.9 percent.
At present unemployment rate is the least in last 20 years. In 2005 when Angela Merkel has taken the state power for the first time there was 11.2 percent unemployment rate in Germany. During Gerhard Schroeder as a Chancellor of Germany, unemployment has been increased. There were many cuts in social security. After taking state power Angela Merkel didn't huge change in this subject. Rather she has been done some reform such as changed in income tax system.
Prices situation is now stable. Moreover, before election, news was published; a biggest corporate house has given support in Christian Democratic. After Margaret Thatcher Angela Merkel is now the most successful woman political leader in Europe. But the difference is, Thatcher is known in history as the iron lady, Merkel is not a hardliner. Christian Democratic is known as hardliner political party in Germany but Merkel is not so.
Chancellor Angela Merkel clinched a fourth term in Germany's election in Sunday but her victory was clouded by the hard-right AfD party winning its first seats in parliament. Merkel, who after 12 years in power held a double-digit lead for most of the campaign, scored around 33 percent of the vote with her conservative Christian Union (CDU/CSU) bloc, according to exit polls. Its nearest rivals, the Social Democrats and their candidate Martin Schulz, came in a distant second, with a post-war record low 20-21 percent.
Now it is a great matter for the German establishment, the anti-Islam, anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD) captured around 13 percent, making it the country's third biggest political force. Many international news media has been publishing about election news of Germany. Every media expressed the same opinion about emergence of Alternative for Germany (AfD). The influential media said it is one kind of political earthquake.
However German Chancellor Angela Merkel thanked her supporters at the party's office in Berlin after the election, shortly briefed that she will face hardliners with democratic politics. Martin Schulz, one of her rivals belonging to the Social Democratic Party, said that although the German society was split with refugee politics, his party would fight against these hardliners in and outside the parliament. Now at this moment, Merkel's main challenge is to face the hardliners. I think a good leader can handle this type of muddy condition.
