Courts in Dhaka have ordered BNP chief Khaleda Zia's arrest in two separate cases as she failed to appear for hearings on Wednesday.
The fifth special judge's court issued a warrant after Khaleda did not attend the hearing on the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case while a metropolitan magistrate also ordered her arrest in a libel suit.
The former prime minister has been in London for the last three months.
"The government made the courts issue warrants in two cases on the same day. It's a ploy so that she can't return," Khaleda's counsel Sanaullah Mia told media.
