Week-long Moni Mela  begins in Netrokona

A week-long fair, widely known as Moni Mela, begins today at Susong Durgapur in Netrokona, marking the 27th death anniversary of Comrade Moni Singh.

Moni Singh is the founder of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB). He was also an adviser to the provisional government of Bangladesh during the Liberation War. December 31 is the death anniversary of the comrade.

The program will be attended by communist party leaders and people from different areas of district. Leaders and local people will place wreaths at the Tong Memorial that commemorates the supreme sacrifices of people in the Tong movement was launched by Moni Singh to realize the rights of landless people.

A discussion meeting will be held with Durgaproshad Tiwary as president while Chhabi Biswas will be present as chief guest.Various cultutral programs will be held around the week.
