A free ENT health camp for the poor was held on the premises of Kamale-rpara College under Shaghata upazila in Gaibandha on Saturday.
SKS Foundation, a local reputed voluntary organization, arranged the camp under its health services and nutrition activities of SAMRIDDHI (ENRICH) program funded by Palli Karma Saghayak Found-ation (PKSF). A team of physicians led by specialist surgeon on ENT Dr. MA Jalil Khan of TMSS Medical College, Bogra conducted the health camp from 9 am to 3 pm and provided the appropriate treatment to the patients, reports BSS.
A total of 169 poor patients with chronically affected diseases on ENT coming from far flung areas of the upazila and its neighboring areas received free healthcare services including medicines as per the prescription of the doctors from the health camp.
Local elite, social workers, NGO activists and journalists were also present on the occasion. M. Rajab Ali, head of programmes of SKS Foundation, said the SAMRIDHHI programme of PKSF is being implemented in the upazila since 2015 and different welfare activities are being done there for the poor. As a part of the activities of the programme, the health camp is held there after every three months, he added.
