A betel leaf farmer was stabbed to death by muggers in front of a college in the district town early Sunday. The deceased was identified as Jalal Uddin, 42, son of Tokim Uddin, a resident of Kashipur village.
Emdadul Haque Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police station, said a gang of muggers swooped on Jalal in front of government K C College around 4 am while he was going to a market for selling betel leaf. Being obstructed, the muggers stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
He was first taken to Sadar upazila health complex. As his condition deteriorated he was shifted to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 6 am.
However, the family members and neighbors demanded further investigations to find out the real incident. The death was so critical and devastating. Family members tore for the farmer serious death. People hope not to happen such this accident next.
