The players’ draft formalities for the five-team Masters Cricket Carnival (MCC), powered by Scan Cement, completed on Tuesday at the media centre of Sher-e-Bangla Cricket National Stadium in Mirpur.
The 3rd version of the Masters Cricket with the participation of former star cricketers will begin on May 2 at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
Five franchise-based teams—Beximco Dhaka Masters, Sylhet Masters Sixers, Amber Chittagong Masters, Air Asia Rajshahi Masters and Raw National Khulna Masters -- will compete in the 3rd version of the meet at two venues.
Five teams will initially play with each other on a league basis first phase of the 18-over-a-side match and later top two teams will play in the final on May 5. Channel i will telecast all the matches live.
All the teams have already confirmed their five icon players.
Former national captain and BCB Director Akram Khan, who is also the convener of the meet, disclosed the details of the tournament at a press conference in the afternoon after the day’s players’ draft.
This tournament will be of a 100-ball innings per side, featuring 15 overs of six balls and last over of 10 balls.
Former national skipper Khaled Masud Pilot, Deputy Executive Director of Walton Uday Hakim also spoke on the occasion, among others.
