Voters in queue, no ballot papers

It was noon. Voters were standing in queue in a polling center. But they couldn't cast their votes. They were said to wait as ballot papers ran out.Such incident took place at Rupsha Bahumukhi High School center in Khulna city during KCC polls yesterday. None was seen to bring ballot papers even after one hour.

It was alleged that a group of youths stamped ballot papers forcing out agents of BNP.An official working at that center said on condition of anonymity, "A group of youths entered into booth at 11am and forced out the agents of BNP. Then they stamped ballot papers and staffed these in ballot boxes. Voters waiting in queues were told ballot papers ran out."

A voter at that center said the media that he came there at 12am. But it was said that ballot papers ran out. But when he went to the center at 1pm again, he was informed that his vote was already cast.

Md Ibnur Rahman, the presiding officer of the polling center, said, "Some outsiders made attempt to cast fake votes creating an unexpected situation. Consequently, voting was suspended."

No agents of BNP were found at the polling center. When asked agents of Awami League, they said BNP agents went outside to take snacks. "Some ballot papers have been stamped by outsiders, which will be cancelled," added the presiding officer.
