The size of the national budget is increasing every year, while the economists have called on the government to be more responsible in revenue expenditure. They believe that money is being wasted in many development projects as well.
The put forward their observations while addressing a seminar by the Economics Club of East West University (EWU) yesterday. Distinguished Fellow of CPD Prof Dr Mustafizur Rahman and Barrister Nihad Kabir, President, the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries addressed the seminar. Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairper-son, Board of Trustees, EWU and the former of Bangladesh Bank was the chief guest of the seminar.
Professor Dr MM Shahidul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, EWU was the special guest. Prof Dr Fakrul Alam along with faculty members and students of the Economics Department were present on the
occasion.
