Anisul hands over latest Bangladesh Code to CJ

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq yesterday handed over the latest edition of Bangladesh Code to Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain at Supreme Court.

The latest edition was published in 42 volumes with all the resolutions, president orders, law and ordinances formulated since 1799 to June 2014.

The first Bangladesh Code was published in 1980 in 11 volumes. As par Article-6 of Bangladesh Laws (Revision and Declaration) Act, 1973, there is an obligation to update all the laws chronologically and publish that as "Bangladesh Code".
