Stocks finished the week down on Thursday with falling trend of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges due to lower demand.
The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 21.49 points down at 5,337.42.The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 2.31 points down at 1,904.47. But, the Shariah DSES closed the week with 5.71 points up at 1,273.09. Out of the 344 issues traded at the DSE today, 131 issues gained against 198 losing issues.
During the week, the daily average trade value decreased by 9.50 percent to Taka 878.18 crore and the average trade volume fell by 4.8 percent to 18.27 crore shares.
The top five gainers of the week were KDSALTD, AMBEEPHA, Legacy Foot, Apex Tannery and Aramit. The major losing issues of the week were Asia Pacific Insurance, Dacca Dying, BD Auto Cars, Premier Leasing and Bay Leasing.
The top five turnover leaders were BBS Cables, KDSALTD, UPGDCL, BPML and KPCL.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week down with its major CASPI index ending 69.52 points lower at 16,444.22.
