If there's one thing we know about absolute power, it's that it corrupts absolutely; and if there's one thing we know about the CIA, it's that the astoundingly unethical and criminal projects highlighted in this article of three parts are probably just the tip of the iceberg.
When an Irish Catholic CIA Director converts to Islam, we know something is very rotten in Denmark. When Director John Brennan implements a soft coup in the 50 states, how can it get any worse? Yes, as JF Kennedy said during the time of his regime, "It's high time to splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces".
With such a grueling revelation, questions are rife over whether the CIA would be faced with a litany of lawsuits. Michael Parenti, in his book, "The Terrorism Trap," tells us: "Throughout its history, the CIA and other agencies of the national security state have resorted to every conceivable crime and machination, using false propaganda, sabotage, bribery, rigged elections, collusion with organized crime, narcotics trafficking, death squads, terror bombings, torture, massacres and wars of attrition."
Concerning propaganda, "The CIA runs the biggest news service in the world, with a budget larger than those of all the major wire services put together. In 1975, a Senate Intelligence Committee found that the CIA owned outright more than 200 wire services, newspapers, magazines and book publishing complexes and subsidized many more." (Parenti, "Inventing Reality"). Isn't that sweet? They have been financing their own brainwashing.
Writing on September 15, 2001, Dr. Larry Mosqueda, informs us: "A conservative number for those who have been killed by US terror and military action since World War II is 8 million people. This does not include the wounded, the imprisoned, the displaced, the refugees, etc." And we wonder why they have an immigration problem.
The US national security state is actually the apparatus for making the world safe for the Fortune 500. Those corporations, with the legal power granted them by the WTO, GATT, NAFTA, etc., and tied with the IMF and World Bank, who were all in turn created by the Illuminati, the Tri-lateral Commission, the Bilderbergers, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Skull and Crossbones and the other conspiratorial organizations set up by the power-elite to run the world, are poisoning the planet and squeezing the life-blood out of its inhabitants.
Nothing is sacred to this juggernaut that is old as time and evil as hell (Thomas Wolfe). Not national sovereignty, not democracy, not justice, not liberty, not the health of the earth and its vast diversity, not future generations, not life itself. This suicidal philosophy is becoming quite evident to increasingly large numbers of the world's population. The veil covering the deceit and corruption is lifting.
That is why demonstrations are taking place worldwide from people of all walks of life. And Oklahoma City, the World Trade Center, Bali, etc., are all a response to this insanity. Have we forgotten the teaching, "You reap what you sow"? How about, "What goes around comes around?" In a cruel irony, the indigenous peoples, who for thousands of years lived in relative harmony with the earth, and therefore, the ones most able to teach us how to live on this earth without destroying it, are the ones whose cultures and lifestyles are being decimated most thoroughly.
A 19th-century Cree Indian told: "Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught, will we realize that we cannot eat money." Bush and the regime he represented are continuing the unfettered imperialistic drive of empire building cloaked in the pretext of fighting terrorism … a terrorism that it perpetuates with its far worse policies and actions.
Recently, at a monumental pivot point in history, despite major anti-war sentiment and the valiant voices of reason, a majority of our elected congressional leaders have shown their true colors, undermining the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the United Nations Charter.
The emperor and his gang truly have no clothes, revealing in-his-face fascism. It is not power that corrupts, but fear. Fear of losing power and fear of the scourge of those who wield it. Jean Hudon tells us: "The only cure for fear is faith, faith in oneself, faith in humanity and faith in the meaning and purpose of life."
We are on the Titanic, and as the Native American proverb goes: "If we don't change our direction, we are going to wind up where we are headed" (idea from Webs of Power by Starhawk). USA must dissolve and dump the CIA. As President John F. Kennedy wanted to do in the early 1960s, President Trump must dismantle the entire multi-decade project to take over the world.
A One World Government has never made any sense specifically because of the crazies who would be running the asylum. Having an American Gestapo policing the entire civilization is as crazy a notion as it gets given the totally degenerate status quo of Pax Americana.
An international observer's comments are very significant, "The US is on the edge of economic collapse and remains afloat only because it can launch a printing press to re-credit its economy, constantly growing its military budget and secret CIA operations.
Therefore, it is entirely logical to assume that the craftsmen of Langley found new quick and inexpensive methods of effectively eliminating opponents. The most important advantage of these methods is that they leave no traces, are disguised as cancer or a heart attack and eliminate the possibility of exposure and direct liability."
In a speech before the CIA celebrating its 50th anniversary, former American President Clinton said: "By necessity, the American people will never know the full story of your courage."Clinton's is a common defense of the CIA: namely, the American people should stop criticizing the CIA because they don't know what it really does.
This, of course, is the heart of the problem in the first place. An agency that is above criticism is also above moral behavior and reform. Its secrecy and lack of accountability allows its corruption to grow unchecked.
Furthermore, Clinton's statement is simply untrue. The history of the agency is growing painfully clear, especially with the declassification of historical CIA documents. We may not know the details of specific operations, but we do know, quite well, the general behavior of the CIA. These facts began emerging nearly two decades ago at an ever-quickening pace. Today we have a remarkably accurate and consistent picture, repeated in country after country, and verified from countless different directions.
However, over the last two decades the tide of evidence has become overwhelming, and the CIA has found that it does not have enough fingers to plug every hole in the dike. This is especially true in the age of the Internet, where information flows freely among millions of people. Since censorship is impossible, the Agency must now defend itself with apologetics. Clinton's "Americans will never know" defense is a prime example.
Another common apologetic is that "the world is filled with unsavory characters, and we must deal with them if we are to protect American interests at all." There are two things wrong with this. First, it ignores the fact that the CIA has regularly spurned alliances with defenders of democracy, free speech and human rights, preferring the company of military dictators and tyrants. The CIA had moral options available to them, but did not take them.
Second, this argument begs several questions. The first is: "Which American interests?" The CIA has courted right-wing dictators because they allow wealthy Americans to exploit the country's cheap labor and resources. But poor and middle-class Americans pay the price whenever they fight the wars that stem from CIA actions, from Vietnam to the Gulf War to Panama. The second begged question is: "Why should American interests come at the expense of other peoples' human rights?"
CIA operations follow the same recurring script. First, American business interests abroad are threatened by a popular or democratically elected leader. The people support their leader because he intends to conduct land reform, strengthen unions, redistribute wealth, nationalize foreign-owned industry, and regulate business to protect workers, consumers and the environment.
So, on behalf of American business, and often with their help, the CIA mobilizes the opposition. First it identifies right-wing groups within the country usually the military, and offers them a deal: "We'll put you in power if you maintain a favorable business climate for us." The Agency then hires, trains and works with them to overthrow the existing government, usually a democracy.
The CIA has a way of very publicly blowing their cover-seeming to pop up wherever turmoil, strife, and political unrest materialize. Despite being almost synonymous with dirty tricks, the Agency has essentially been given free rein, permitted to use whatever tactics they see fit to deal with any, real or perceived, threat to so-called American interests.
To sum up, people all over the world should raise their voice in unison to disband this malignant, vile, morally reprehensible and wretched killing squad and that brings US to the final conclusion on CIA like undercover spy agency.
