Foreign Co may control Dhaka Airport security

The government has been considering appointment of a foreign company to ensure an international standard security system at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).According to Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism (MoCAT) three United Kingdom (UK) company including Redline Security, The Westminster Group and Restrata Security Company are trying to get access to providing international standard security system at HSIA following the suspension of direct cargo flight to Landon from Dhaka in view the security arrangement at Dhaka airport as it is not up to the mark.The MoCAT source said the government formed a steering committee for airport security which has enrolled three British companies for insuring security system at the airport. Source also said, the steering committee has a meeting with these three companies individually on Saturday next. At the meeting the committee will finalize which group will provide security system at the airport. For ensuring security the three companies have been providing their security service at government office and non-government organizations in   United States of America (USA) and UK. The minister of MoCAT, Rashed Khan Menon, told The Asian Age on Thursday the government has been turning to jointly work with foreign company due to provide global standard security system at HSIA.He said "We want to fulfill all of requirement on security issue by 20 March. On the matter the government has made a seven-member steering committee which will provide final approval to foreign security company."Menon said the steering committee has a meeting on Sunday; the committee will give final approval to foreign company for providing security service at the airport.

He said that the suspension of direct air cargo to UK from Dhaka has been taking toll on the economy so the government is trying to improving overall aviation security.He said in a meeting with the UK delegation given short-term, mid-term and long-term observations regarding airport security.Redline has rapidly developed into one of Europe's premier providers of security training and support.
