Love life & other emotion

Love life & other emotion

Does memory fell shadow in our work? Some people talk about them, and some believe without any hesitation. "I found profound pleasure to reminisce childhood memory of father's shirt or design of mom's favorite sari. I learnt to connect with my works through memory," said printmaker artist Suborna Hasan.

Suborna Hasan's solo exhibition was held in Café Mango & Gallery from August4 to August31. Suborna develops her works using her own memory as references. What we see in a printmaking connect with her emotions.

After completing MFA from Dhaka University, the artist had always been drawn to printmaking where she uses woodcut, lithograph, etching and fingers to create heart-touching art. "I am working here with colors and forms.  I use warm colors because I believe I can portray happiness better with it. Because, I want to show happiness with my work," said Suborna.

Each print is a unique outcome. "You'll see a lady with coiffure in my works, which is me," she explains.  The exhibition consisted of 50 works. As the title suggests, the artist's muse is love and life and this was an exhibition that's as much about how the works were made as it is about showcasing the artist's extraordinary output.
