Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) will celebrate its silver jubilee from September 12 since the capital market watchdog has already completed 25 years of its journey.
To mark this milestone, the BSEC has chalked out elaborate programs, including cultural function, discussion, reunion and seminar, for seven days.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the week long program at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on September 12, said BSEC executive director M Sifur Rahman told a press conference at BSEC office in the city yesterday. Finance Minister AMA Muhith and senior officials of the government will present at the inaugural function, he said.
He said the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will also similar programs in Dhaka and Chattogram respectively on the occasion.
BSEC executive directors Farhad Ahmed and Anwarul Islam were, among others, present at the press conference. Established on June 08, 1993, the regulatory body was initially named as Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and subsequently it was named as BSEC on December 10, 2012.
