During the two consecutive tenures of the incumbent government Bangladesh has developed rapidly under the leadership Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, especially in major economic, social and human social development indicators.
As a result, Sheikh Hasina has made her mark as a leader internationally during two consecutive tenures period, it is learnt from a government review.
According to the review, since being elected the head of government in 2009, she has caught the attention of major world leaders and international organizations due to her policy driven programmes at home and focused leadership on regional and international stages.
Prime Minister Seikh Hasina's image, the way of running the country with development activities, together with the stable law and order, has been boosted at home and abroad, records from finance ministry shows.
Particularly rural development initiatives, for the people who are used to living at the remote areas, are capable enough to improve their income as well as being standard along with the scope of new employment opportunity created by the government, LGRD Ministry sources said.
In addition, the country is moving forward with impressive and large scale development projects targeting development vision to turn the country into a developed one in the days to come, government sources said.
During the two tenures in power since 2009 of Sheikh Hasina 20135 development projects worth of Tk 17,82,904 crore were approved in order to build the nation and people of all strata live in peace and prosperity, ministry of planning sources said.According the same ministry, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved these projects from the fiscal year 2009 to 2018.
Washington based International Republic Institute (IRI), a think tank to assess global issues, has said in its survey that 66% people in Bangladesh believe Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is moving the country in right direction with her development and public security initiatives.
IRI also shows that 64% people in the country support the AL led government in the areas of development, law and order, regional and international relations building efforts.
The United Nations Secretary General Antanio Guterres and the World Bank President Jim Kim recently visited Bangladesh since the beginning of July and the foreign bosses held dialogue with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, especially the issue of Rohingya refugees and other issues.
In order to hold the next election, the Election Commission is going ahead with the strategic action as well as an implementation plan and these will be tcompleted by September.
Political analysts ay the incumbent government goes ahead with positives strategic options, on the other hand, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party lacks strong leadership and prudent decision making, which has given the Awami League a boost over the years.
