Concerted efforts of all government and non-government entities concerned has become crucial to protect human rights as a whole as every person deserves the rights constitutionally, said speakers at a discussion in Rajshahi on Monday.
All of us should feel about significance of human rights in the society and work together for its enforcement as there's no alternative to protecting human rights to ensure people's welfare.
They made this observation while addressing a meeting styled "Seventy Years Founding Anniversary Celebration of Universal Human Rights Declaration and Human Rights-related Film-show" at Hotel Warrisan in Rajshahi city, reports BSS.
Ain-o- Shalish Kendra (ASK), International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights and Paribartan jointly organized the meeting in association with Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh and United Nation Human Rights. Chaired by ASK Executive Director Sheepa Hafiza, Christopher Fuchus, Charge the Affairs of Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, and Mia Sheppo, Resident Coordinator of UN Mission, shared their remarks on the issue as guests of honor.
Executive Director of Nijera Kori Khushi Kabir, Professor ANM Wahid from Department of Law and Professor Bokhtiar Ahmed from Department of Anthropology of Rajshahi University, Senior Program Officer of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Sabina Yeasmin Lubna also spoke.
