Obaidul Quader talks upside down: Rizvi

Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has blamed Awami League's secretary general Obaidul Quader for telling lies. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, "If a corpse comes out of the grave to throw cocktails that's an incredible story. Obaidul Quader tells this sort of false tales."

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, "Cases are being filed against people while they are abroad. Words said by Obaidul Quader have always upside down meanings."

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made these remarks on Thursday at around 12 pm noon while addressing a press conference in BNP office in the capital's Naya Paltan. He further said, "Obaidul Quader's statements are like fairy tales about monsters. What he says the opposite things happen.

His words cannot be trusted." Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the present Election Commission (EC) is submissive to the ruling party which is why it cannot hold free, fair polls.

He urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign and to organize the election under a nonpartisan  government. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi condemned the government for utilizing the law and order forces for repressing the opposition parties. False cases being lodged against BNP leaders and activists again and again, he added.

The government wants to stay in power by any means, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said with reference to a remark from the Prime Minister's Adviser HT Imam. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi slammed the government for repeated cross fires, encounters and forced disappearances.

HT Imam skipped over the dead body of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and became the Cabinet Secretary under the assassins of Sheikh Mujib, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told the audiences.
