Four persons including three members of a family and two injured by electric poll on a running CNG at Bagmara area of Nangolkot upazila in Cumilla on Friday. The electric cable's voltage was 11 thousand.
A committee was formed on three-member based for this incident. Local woman Marium Akter said that the Nangolkot bound CNG from Shankarpur area was blasted by fire within a moment when 11 thousand high voltage cable fell on CNG. Four were killed including three members of a family and two were injured by electrocution on the spot in this incident.
The deceased are: Mawlana Abu Taher (60), son of Late Safi Habib Ullah of Shankarpur area; Abu Byjid (30), son of Mawlana Abu Taher; Fahima Akter, daughter of Mawlana Abu Taher; CNG driver Sarwar (35), son of Abdur Rahim of the same area.
The injured are: Mariam Akter (22), wife of Abu Byjid; Al-Amin (2), son of Abu Byjid. Nangolkot Thana OC (Investigation) Ashraful Islam confirmed the incident and brought the dead bodies at Thana after recover.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal donated Tk 1 lakh to victims. Nangolkot Upazila Chairman Samsu-ddin Kalu, Municipal Mayor Abdul Malek also donated Tk 25 thousand to victims.
Abu Taher from chairman samity donated Tk 80 thousand. Shirin Akter, Deputy Assistant (Land) said, Tk 60 thousand to the family of deceased members and Tk 20 to driver family were helped from Govt.
