Rivina humilis

Marcha is seen everywhere in Bangladesh. Usually it is seen on elevated ground. It cannot survive in flood water. It grows on playground and that are at higher level than the usual surface ground. It is a bushy plant and grows to a height of two or three feet.

Its leaves are green; its flowers and fruits grow on its long stalk from the very bottom right up to its top. Its tiny flowers are white in color and its fruits look like country grams. Its flowers and fruits grow all through the year. Marcha has certain medicinal qualities. It is useful in treating skin diseases and eye-complaints.
