China Ambassador in Bangladesh Zhang Zuo yesterday expressed satisfaction over the security management system of the 400 MW under construction combined cycle power plant (CCPP-East) project in Ashuganj, as a new portion of Ashuganj power plant.
Zhang Zuo also exchanged views with high officials of the power plant at its conference room before his visit. First Secretary of China Embassy in Dhaka Zohoang Zian, Managing Director of Ashuganj Power plant AMM Saazzadur Rahman, UNO Moushumi Bain Hira, Power Plant Executive Director (Project) Ajit Kumar Sarker, Executive Director (Technical) Engineer AKM Yeakub, Executive Director (Finance) Mahfuzul Hoque, CCPP (East) Project Director Engr Kshitish Chandra Biswas, Financial Manager of Contractor Institution Ziang lee and other officials were present, among others, in the conference.
It is to be mentioned that the treaty of the aforesaid project was signed on March 20 of the current year and the construction work began on July 16. According to the treaty, commercial production of the new power plant will begin on July 2021. China Company 'National Technical Import & Export Corporation (CNTIC) & China National Corporation for Overseas Co-operation Consortium (CCOEC) jointly constructed the project estimated Tk 1473.83 crore.
