Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General Md Safinul Islam Signed the agreement on behalf of Bangladesh Government.
The government signed a purchase agreement with Russia to buy two helicopters for BGB Air Wing. The agreement was signed at Pilkhana ,Dhaka yesterday.

Officials said that according to Prime Minister's directive, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan laid the foundation stone of BGB Air Wing at Border Guard Training Center and College at Satkania, in Chittagong on June 5, 2016.
To build BGB as a three-dimensional force, BGB Air wing has been created to help in the construction of BOPs in remote hill areas of Chittagong Hill Tracts, rearing of ration goods and logistic support, reaching the injured BGB members to hospitals, emergency rescue operation and operational capacity of the BGB. In continuation of this, the agreement was signed yesterday.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, Secretary of the Department of Public Security Mostafa Kamal Uddin, First Secretary at the Russian Embassy in Dhaka Andrei Bankiev, Military attaché at the Russian Embassy Colonel Yuri P. Lehchechenko , Head of the delegation and Councilor of Russian Embassy Andrei N Shubchenko , JSC Russia Helicopter's representative Nikita Sktolibeshov , Senior officials of the Interior Ministry and BGB Headquarters and officials of the Russian delegation were also present at the signing ceremony.
