Business leaders of Chattogram demanded to reduce the interest rate in bank loans to single digit for increasing business activities. They raised the demand while exchanging views with the leaders of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) held at Agrabad Hotel in Chattogram Yesterday.FBCCI senior vice-president Sheikh Fazle Fahim chaired the meeting while FBCCI directors and President of Chattogram chamber attended the meeting.
Business leaders of Chattagram chamber also urged exploring huge potential of greater Chattogram region by extensive industrialization to continue the country's balanced development process and emphasized the need for women entrepreneurs in economic development of the districts. They also highlighted the need for increasing Chattogram's tourism industry and increasing the capacity of Chattogram port.
FBCCI Senior Vice President Sheikh Fazle said, "following the government's 8th five year plan, the country's private sector has been working to transform Bangladesh into a developed country by 2041. The FBCCI has taken this initiative to negotiate with the chambers of the entire country for discussing the problems of the business community of the country."
Sheikh Fahim also said about the establishment of FBCCI University soon, "We will give science and technology based education more priority. We will also establish 'FBCCI Institute' for the purpose of creating skilled human resources through engineering and technical training. The process is going on." "FBCCI icon building will be built on one acre of land at Purbachal allocated by the government," he noted.
