Sandhani National Eye Donation Society has urged the people to emulate Dr Aleem Al-Razee's selfless act and take part in posthumous eye donation.
Dr Razee donated his eyes to give light to two visually impaired persons, enabling them to enjoy the beauty of this world and make a living for themselves. Dr Razee was a pioneer of posthumous eye donation in Bangladesh, Sandhani said in a statement.
Shandhani President Prof Dr AKM Salek and Secretary General Dr Md Joynal Abedin urged people to follow Dr Razee's example and donate eyes posthumously to help restore eyesight of over one and a half million people in Bangladesh. Dr Razee, the father-in-law of UNB Chairman Amanullah Khan, was a celebrated jurist, parliamentarian, educationist and philanthropist.
He passed away on March 15, 1985.
