A 7-day-long short course on 'Port and Shipping Studies' concluded at Krishibid Institution yesterday. The program was jointly organized by the Institute of Bay of Bengal and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU). A total of 52 government and non-government officials have successfully completed the course, said a press release.
Ministry of Shipping Secretary Md Abdus Samad joined the occasion as the chief guest while BSMRMU VC Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal, flanked by BSMRMU high-ups, were also present. The chief guest hoped that the participants would be able to play a significant role in the country's potential shipping sector and overall port management.
BSMRMU VC highlighted on the future potentials of the university in maritime research with a view to achieve the Blue-Economy goals in light of the premier's 'Vision-2041'.
