'Though Bangladesh is self-sufficient in cereal crops, but there is still behind in animal protein production as well as consumption. Animal Husba-ndry graduates should play an important role in nutrition security by increasing the production of meat, milk and eggs' said Bangladesh Agricultural University Alumni Association's (BAUAA) president and syndicate member of BAU Agriculturalist Abdul Mannan MP in Animal Husbandry Day celebration program.
Animal Husbandry day observed at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) with much enthusiasm and festivity on Thursday. Bangladesh Animal Husbandry Association (BAHA) observed the day with a theme titled 'Animal Husbandry for Safe Animal Foods'.
Krishibid Abdul Mannan MP inaugurated Animal Husbandry day by releasing balloons and pigeons in front of Animal Husbandry faculty. Then a colorful procession brought out led by him from Animal Husbandry faculty parading main main streets of the campus ended at Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin auditorium.
BAU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Md Ali Akbar, Pro-VC Prof Dr Md Jasimuddin Khan, student affair adviser Prof Dr Md Solaiman Ali Fakir, Proctor Prof Dr Md Azharul Hoque, teachers-students and employees of Animal Husbandry faculty took part in that procession.
After procession a seminar titled 'Animal Husbandry education towards nutritional security trough safe livestock and poultry production- A mission to fulfill the SDGs' held at Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin auditorium. Krishibid Abdul Mannan MP was presented as chief guest while BAU VC Prof Md Ali Abar was chief patron. Animal Husbandry faculty's dean Prof Md Nurul Islam presided over the seminar.
On the seminar former student affair adviser of BAU Prof Dr Sachchidananda Das Chowdhury was delivered his welcome speech.Assistant Prof Mr Bapan Dey of Poultry Science department presented the keynote paper. A total about five hundred teachers, students and employees of that faculty attended on the seminar.
