Youth makes a giant tasbih

Saying tasbih (rosary) is a means of prayer to Muslims. Devotees remember Allah (SWT) counting beads of tasbih. Abdullah Al Haider, a youth from Nabingar upazila of Brahmanbaria is going to make a world record by making a giant tasbih. The 4,500 ft long tasbih is made of 1,67,500 beads and weighs 67 kg.

Haider said that he has made the tasbih spending around one and half lakh taka. It is the longest tasbih in the world, according to him. He has already applied to the authorities of the Guinness Book of World Records for the recognition of his tasbih as the largest in the world.

While Haider was passing his days idle after completing studies, he made his mind to do something by which he can create a record. Accordingly, he started to make the tasbih from January 2 and completed the work after around two months. During a visit, the giant tasbih was seen on the floor of a room at Haider's house. Thousands of enthusiastic people throng Haider's house to give a look to the tasbih.

If the tasbih gets the recognition of of the Guinness Book of World Records, Haider wants to gift the tasbih to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Haider said, "Browsing internet I have found that there is a 60kg tasbih in Pakistan. Hopefully, my tasbih will be the largest in the world in terms of length and weight."
