Largest technology expo begins today


BASIS SoftExpo 2019, the largest software and service expo in South Asia in terms of participation, is being started today with the slogan "Technology for Prosperity'' at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).

The 3-day long congregation of ICT companies, personalities, key policy makers, industry leaders and other ICT stakeholders is organized by Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) in partners with ICT Division.
 
Besides, Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance Project (LICT) and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) are zone partners of industry 4.0 zone and experience zone.  In this regard, a press conference was organized yesterday at BASIS office in the city. State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, ICT Secretary N M Zeaul Alam, Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance Project (LICT) Project Director Md Rezaul Karim and LICT's Component Team Leader Sami Ahmed were present at the conference.

BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir, Senior Vice President and Convener of BASIS SoftExpo-2019 Farhana A Rahman and Vice President (Admin) Shoeb Ahmed Masud, Vice President (Finance) Mushfiqur Rahman, Director Didarul Alam were present on the BASIS side in the conference.

State Minister for ICT ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, said, "Local ICT sector has been contributing from the very beginning in the development of Digital Bangladesh. The motto of BASIS SoftExpo is also to uphold the capability of local ICT sector. This year ICT Division and BASIS is going to organize BASIS SoftExpo 2019 in wide spectrum, one of the largest ICT expositions in this region."

This year more than 250 national and international IT companies are showcasing their product and services in this mega exposition of Bangladesh, said Farhana A Rahman.

She added that BASIS SoftExpo 2019 has been divided into 10 individual zones. There will be Corporate Hour, Japan Day, Business Leadership Meet where more than 500 Corporate High Officials will participate. Largest ICT career camp for the students, gaming fest, B-2-B matchmaking session would be a unique opportunity for Software and ITES companies.
