Former DUCSU VP and veteran politician Tofail Ahmed urged the newly elected leaders of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and hall union's leaders to work together for the sake of the general students.
"You may belong to different political platform and have different ideology. But, you are now the elected leaders for each and every student, not for any particular group." Recollecting his personal account, the veteran leader said Bangabandhu greeted him from jail when he got elected as the VP. "Bangabandhu asked me to play the role as DUCSU is considered as the second Parliament of Bangladesh," said the AL leader.
Tofail was addressing an event titled 'Enriched by Hearing' attended by the students' leaders at DU VC's residential building with the VC professor Akhtaruzzaman in chair. Former DUCSU general secretary Mostak Ahmed also shared his experiences. Mostak said, "We were divide into many of organizations but it didn't hamper the common interest of the students. From my experience, I hope that will not be a barrier."
