Singer Subir Nandi on life support

Popular singer Subir Nandi was put on life support after his admission to the Critical care centre (CCC) of Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on Sunday night.  Family sources said: "Subir Nandy suffered a heart attack in a train around 9:00 last night in city's Uttara area while returning from Sylhet after attending a family program there."He was immediately rushed to the CMH, Dhaka and put on life support around 11:00 yesterday morning as his condition deteriorated sharply. 

The elderly singer had also been suffering from kidney ailment for a long time. Subir Nandi won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer five times for his performance in the films Mahanayak (1984), Shuvoda (1986), Srabon Megher Din (1999), Megher Pore Megh (2004) and Mohua Sundori (2015). He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2019. The Singer was born in Baniachang Upazila in Habiganj on November 19, 1953.He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2019.
