AL leaders criticise BNP for ‘politicising’ Nusrat’s death

AL leaders criticise BNP for ‘politicising’ Nusrat’s death
Two senior ruling Awami League leaders have criticised the BNP for 'politicising' the death of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.

"BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain's comment was an attempt to politicise the incident. It's disgraceful," Information Minister Hasan Mahmud told the media in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Nusrat was set afire on April 6 at an Alim examination centre in Sonagazi, allegedly by students loyal to madrasa Principal Sirajuddoula, accused of sexually harassing her.

She succumbed to her injuries after five days.

Minister Mahmud said government institutions will face action if they are found to have shown negligence in connection with Nusrat's death.

In Kushtia, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said it is unfortunate that BNP is doing politics with Nusrat's murder.

He said that the people involved in the student's killing will not be spared.
