IBCF holds seminar on 'Welfare Banking and Cash Waqf'

Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF), the apex organization of the banks having Islamic operations in Bangladesh, organized a national seminar on 'Welfare Banking and Cash Waqf' on May 11, 2019 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka.

Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Prof Dr Khairul Hossain was present in the program as chief guest while chairman of Social Islami Bank Prof Anwarul Azim Arif presided over the seminar. Vice Chairman of IBCF and Convener of Seminar Preparatory Committee AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul was the moderator of the seminar.

Former adviser to the caretaker government and former chairman of NBR Abdul Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, former state minister to the Foreign Affairs Abul Hasan Chowdhury, NBR's former chairman Shah Abdul Hannan and Dr Muhammad Abdul Mazid spoke on welfare banking and cash waqf in the seminar.

The key-note paper was presented by Md Mahbub Ul Alam, Managing Director and CEO of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, and Dr Mohammed Haider Ali Miah, Managing Director and CEO of EXIM Bank, Syed Waseque Md Ali, Managing Director and CEO of First Security Islami Bank, Farman R Chowdhury, Managing Director and CEO of Al-Arafa Islami Bank spoke at the event.

Economists, educationists, director and CEOs of different banks, Islamic scholars, business leaders and local elites were present in the program.
