Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) hosted an iftar party for diplomats from different foreign embassies and high commissions in Dhaka on Tuesday at a hotel in the capital's Gulshan.American Ambassador to Bangladesh Earl Miller attended the iftar party. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das participated in the party too.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Alamgir welcomed the guests as they arrived at the venue. BNP Organizing Secretary Shama Obayed introduced the ambassadors and high commissioners to the leaders of BNP.Higher officials from the diplomatic missions of Canada, Australia, Norway, Turkey, France, Pakistan, Afghanistan and some other countries were present in the iftar party.
BNP leaders Dr Khondaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr Moin Khan, Selima Rahman, Dr. Emaz Uddin Ahmed, Tabith Awal and some other senior party members attended the party.
Journalists Riaz Uddin Ahmed, Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, Shyamol Dutta, Toufique Imrose Khalidi and Saiful Alam also attended the iftar party.Among other dignitaries Professor Dr Mahbub Ullah, former governor Dr Saleh Uddin Ahmed, Professor Asif Nazrul, Professor Dilara Chowdhury, Barrister Shah Deen Malik and Dr Borhan Uddin attended the iftar party.
