Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested two drug peddlers along with 871 bottles of phensidyl from Uttara area in the capital on Friday. The detainees are identified as Mohammad Jahangir, 50, hailed from Munshiganj and Md Golap, 26, a resident from Chapainawabganj, reports BSS. A team of RAB-1 conducted the raid on a truck around 6 pm last evening on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in the city's Maleka-Banu School Road area, a RAB official said. Searching the truck, the RAB personnel recovered 871 bottles of phensidyl and arrested them in connection with the incident, RAB-1 Commanding Officer (Captain) Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Sarwar-bin-Kashem confirmed this to BSS today. Later, they also recovered two mobile phones along with 2,500 Taka in cash and seized the truck. A case was filed in this regard.
