More than 100 renowned public and private organizations including multi-national companies, corporate entities, development and government organizations will join together to hunt new employees at a two-day career fair held from June 24 in the capital.
The BRAC University organized the ''NRB Jobs Presents National Career Fair-2019'' under the theme of ''Campus to Corporate'' from June 27 to 28 at Carnival, Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) Agargaon, Dhaka. The objective of the fair was to provide a platform to all graduating and already graduated students from both public and private universities and colleges to connect with the country's leading employers from different sectors and match their career of interest.
This was revealed today at a press conference organized by the BRAC University at Jatiya press club heading by Dilara Afroz Khan Rupa, Director, Office of Student Affairs. Among others, Lt Col Md. Foyzul Islam (Retd), Registrar of BRAC University and Mr. Mahbube Elahi Chowdhury, MD& CEO of NRB Jobs BD Limited were attending in this event.
They said the National Career Fair helped the potential jobseekers and employers interacted and eliminated the gap between their academic understanding and the expectations from the world of work. Foreign Minister Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, MP inaugurated the fair as the chief guest while Mr. Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, was the Special Guest and FBCCI President Mr. Sheikh FazleFahim presented the keynote paper titled ''Youth Powerhouse: The key to be a developed nation'' on Thursday, 27th June 2019 at Carnival, Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) Agargaon, Dhaka. State minister for power, energy and mineral resources Mr. Nasrul Hamid, MP, will close the fair as the chief guest on Friday.
During the fair titled ''Career Grooming Sessions'' was held so that the job seekers could hear from the industry leaders and experts. Besides, two-day training on various job related topics was held that helped the potential employees to acquire skills that the recruiters are looking for in addition to their academic knowledge.
