He further said that Bangladesh is one of the fastest growing economies of Asia with considerable infrastructure deficit. However, its demographic density and sensitivity to quality education, skills development and entrepreneurship are positive factors for attracting foreign investment. Its regulatory regime for easy reparation of profits of the foreign entrepreneurs and salaries earned by foreign employees are added advantage.
Also there are a number of fiscal incentives including five to seven years of tax holidays for the foreign investors. The ongoing Special Economic Zones will prove to be a game changer for FDI inflows into Bangladesh. No doubt, the FDI flow to Bangladesh has already started picking up and been fastest in South Asia in the last year. The brand and tech savvy growing middle class can be additional attraction for foreign investors.
The existing political stability and focused policy attention of the top leadership is further facilitating the inflow of FDI in Bangladesh.
