A conference of the Deputy General Managers of Rural Electrification Board (REB) was held on Saturday in the organization's head office in Dhaka. Over three hundred Deputy General Managers of REB attended the conference. Major General Main Uddin (Retd), Chairman of REB participated in the conference as chief guest.

It was announced in the conference that 2020, the hundredth birth anniversary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, would be observed as the service year of REB.

During Saturday's conference, REB declared to carry out the following objectives: 1) Observing 2020 as service year 2) Ensuring 100% electric supply to the country's people 3) Eradicating customer harassment 4) Ensuring uninterrupted electric supply 5) Exercising zero tolerance against corruption 6) Launching paperless offices as part of Digital Bangladesh program 7) Installing two thousand solar irrigation machines 8) Transforming youths into efficient human resources.

The speakers in the conference recalled the contributions of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the creation of Bangladesh and laid emphasis on following Bangabandhu's ideals to drive Bangladesh ahead towards more prosperity.
