As Steve Rhodes' time as Bangladesh head coach came to an end following the team's eighth-place finish at the Cricket World Cup 2019, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are looking for a new head coach for the national team as they posted an advertisement at their official website.
According to the vacant post requirements, the candidate must have ability to relate to international cricketers, ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals with diverse background, Strong Communication and interpersonal skills, excellent presentation and report writing skills, Strong analytical ability. He must work independently when necessary. The candidate also should have computer literacy with ability to operate cricket coaching software.
The interested candidates are requested to send their CV along with a forwarding letter mentioning expected salary and other benefits and one recent photographs to the Chief Executive Officer, Bangladesh Cricket Board, Shere-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka (Email:
[email protected]) by July 18. Only the short listed candidates will be called for interview.
According to BCB source, At least little experience to work with any sub-continent side will get preference. "It's not like he has to be from our sub-continent. We are looking for someone who has some experience of working with sub-continental team or at least know well about the sub-continental teams."
BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon told the reporters in London.Meanwhile, Papon hinted the door is also open for the Bangladesh's former coach Chandika Hathurusingha. "We haven't any contact with him [Hathurusingha].
We don't how many days are left in his current contact [with Sri Lanka] we do not know yet. We will have our door open, we will see if he is interested. We will consider him with the same importance. We have lot of options but there is no specification yet," he remarked.
"We have good names in our list. We have lots of options as the World Cup is over and many of them are free," he added.Bangladesh is all set to tour to Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI series in late July. But their significant tour will come in November when they travel to India for three T20Is and two Test matches.
