Left arm spinner Taijul Islam who earned a national recall on Tuesday for Sri Lanka tour, claimed four wickets as visiting BCB XI limited Dr. DY Patil Cricket Academy to 300-8 on day one in their second four-day match at the Dr. (capt.)K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament on Tuesday.
Taijul who hogged the limelight in the first match by taking 8-89 against Vidarbha Cricket Association, displayed yet another brilliant bowling display as Dr. DY Patil Cricket Academy kept losing wickets at regular intervals after their skipper Naushad Shaikh opted to bat first at M Chiannswamy Stadium.
Taijul conceded 135 runs but he took four wickets in his 30 overs spell. He will join the national camp in Sri Lanka from here. Bangladesh bowlers dominated the early morning with Taijul and Shahidul removing Dr. DY Patil Cricket Academy's openers within 40 runs.
But later Ashay Sardesai (112*), Shubham Ranjane (50) and skipper Naushad Shaikh (38) made formidable partnership to turn the innings into gentle face. Their innings was also boosted with a late flurry by Aman Khan who hit four sixes in his 29 ball 43.
Bangladesh strongly came back in the final session with paceman Taskin Ahmed striking twice. Shohidul Islam and Nayeem Hasan also bagged one wicket each.
