With the Eid-ul-Azha only four days away, holidaymakers started leaving the capital on Wednesday without much trouble to celebrate the festival with their dear ones.Thousands of homebound people thronged different railway, bus stations and Sadarghat launch terminal of Dhaka.
At Kamlapur railway station, one of the travelers said: "I am sending my family members to village home much ahead of the Eid vacation to avoid possible hassles on highways due to their poor conditions and tailbacks."
Another Eid holidaymaker, Sourav, told The Asian Age that I am going to Feni by bus to celebrate the festival with my family members. I am going early because there might be traffic jam and other hassles on the road later.
However, there was hardly any report of long tailback or any hassle on the road this year. After visiting Sadarghat launch terminal, it was found that people are planning to go home early this year to avoid hassle.
However, experts said that people suffered this traffic chaos for decades during Eid vacation. Their travel to home should be hassle-free, they added.
