A fire broke out in a container at the Rupur nuclear power plant under construction at Ishwardi. The fire started from the electrical short circuit during welding work in the construction of office No. 29 of the Max Company, a subcontractor engaged in construction work. At that time, the contents of the office and the sixteen containers were burnt. The fire broke out around 12:30 pm on Friday (August 9th). There were no casualties in the blaze. According to eyewitness sources, the project's fire service unit quickly reached the spot and immediately extinguished the fire, following the onset of the fire from the electric short circuit.
