A poem on sacrificial norms

A poem on sacrificial norms
Dhaka North City Corporation's Mayor Atiqul Islam's nephew has reportedly bought a big bull for Eid Ul Azha at a high price. Poet Ajoy Das Gupta, who lives in Australia, has written a poem on this matter which is translated below for the readers of The Asian Age.

Bulls are boss now
What a funny name?
Just money is not enough
Rich uncles are needed
To buy big bulls.

Poor fellows will buy
Lean and thin cows
While affluent people
Will buy fat cattle.

Sacrifice is for unity
Not for showing off
But nobody knows
When it will come.
