Missing Kushtia nurse found dead in sack
A nurse who went missing in the district town on Saturday afternoon was found dead in a sack in Kumarkhali upazila on Tuesday morning.

The victim is Bilkis Akhter, 40, a nurse of Doctor’s Lab and Private Hospital in the district town and wife of fish trader Rabiul Islam of Amlapara in the town.

Officer-in-charge of Kumarkhali Police Station Jahangir Alam said they recovered the body from near a bamboo bridge at Kanchanpur around 8:30am and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Victim’s husband Rabiul said Bilkis returned home around 2pm on Saturday from the workplace. She, however, rushed out without informing anyone after she received a phone call around 5pm, he said, adding that since then, she remained missing.

He also said they filed a general diary with Kushtia Model Police Station on Monday in this regard.

Locals said the couple had no child in their 25-year marriage life.
