Seven shops owners was Tk 6,100 fined at an anti-polythene mobile court for selling, storing, using and distributing banned polythene bags in Naliotabari upazila of Sherpur district on Thursday afternoon.
Md Arifur Rahman Nirbahi Magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Nalitabari leaded the mobile court. The operation was carried out in the presence of the police administration with the help of the Environment Department.
During that time, some polythene and some of salines' packet were seized which made by anonymous companies without authorization. In addition, other shopkeepers are advised to be careful about any prohibited products for sale, storage and supply for commercial purposes.
In this time, environment officials, police administration, journalists of different media and many more locals were present.
Arifur Rahman Nirbahi Magistrate of the mobile court said, we raided different shops in the upazila town and seized banned polythene. He also said there are fold of won shop. So they were fined and final warning signal to all shops of this mater.
