Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team skipper Akbar Ali's brilliant unbeaten 98 knock help his team to set up a crushing six-wicket triumph over Nepal U-19 Cricket team in their second match of the ongoing ACC Under-19s Asia Cup 2019 at P Sara Oval Stadium in Colombo on Sunday.

Bangladesh, has been placed in the Group B along with hosts Sri Lanka, Nepal and UAE and started their campaign crushing UAE by 6 wickets with 141 balls to spare at Free Trade Zone grounds at Katunayake on Friday. In the remaining group match Bangladesh will play host Sri Lanka on Tuesday at Moratuwa.

Sent into bat first, Nepal posted a fighting total 261 for 8 in 50 overs with opener Osama Pawan Sarraf scoring the highest 81 runs off 111 balls while Sundeep Jora contributed 56 runs off 37 balls.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Shahin Alam bagged two wickets each while Towhid, Minhazur, Rakibul picked up one wicket for Bangladesh.

In reply, Young Tigers reached their target scoring the match-winner 262 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 49.2 overs. Towhid Hridoy scored 60 runs off 87, Shamim Hossain 42 runs off 45, Mahmudul Hasan Joy 40 runs off 57 balls for Bangladesh.

Kamal Singh picked up two wickets and Rashid Khan and Hari Chauhan bagged one wicket each. Top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals which are scheduled to be held on September 12 at two separate venues while the final will be held September 14. Earlier, a 15-member Bangladesh U-19 team reached Sri Lanka on Tuesday to take part in the competition.
