Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday urged MPs to be familiar with the thought and development philosophy of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman studying his speeches stored at the Jatiya Sangsad library.
She said the MPs should obtain ICT knowledge and know about the library and research services as there are more than 85,000 books as well as recorded speeches of Bangabandhu in the library.
The Speaker made the call while inaugurating a three-day programme on ICT, library and research services of Parliament at the oath room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
She also urged the MPs to enhance the use of library and their reading habit.
Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah spoke as a special guest at the function presided over by Senior Secretary of Parliament Secretariat Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan.
Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, whips Atiur Rahman Atik, Iqbalur Rahim, Panchanan Biswas and Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon were present, said a press release.
