Bangladesh top archer Mohammad Ruman Shana, who has qualified for the upcoming Olympics as the first Bangladeshi archer, will compete for gold medal of men's recurve individual of the of the Asia Cup World Ranking (Archery) Tournament, Stage-3 on Friday in Philippines.
Earlier, Ruman Shana beat China's Ta La by 6-4 sets in the semi-final on Wednesday. He will face China's Shi Zhenqi in the final. Ruman outclassed Chinese Taipei's Yang Huie-Jhe by 7-1 set in the quarter-final, Thailand's Thepna Denchai by 6-0 set in the third round and Myanmar's Thiha Htet Zaw in the second round to book semifinal spot.
Of the two other Bangladeshi archers, Hakim Ahmed Rubel suffered defeat in the second round and Tamimul Islam was eliminated from the third round. In women's Recurve singles, Beauty Roy eliminated from the second round.
Earlier, on the first day of the tournament, Ruman Sana finished second position out of 38 competitors in the recurve division elimination round after scoring 671, Tamimul Islam finished 20th position after scoring 644 and Mohammad Hakim Ahmed Rubel placed at 21st position after scoring 642. In the recurve women's qualification round, Beauty Roy finished 14th position among the 27 competitors after scoring 623.
