Spirited Bangladesh Under-19 team will take on Afghanistan in the second semi-final final of the ongoing ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2019 at Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa in Sri Lanka today. The semi-final match between the Afghans and the Tigers will kick off at 10:30am Bangladesh time. On the other hand, India will encounter Sri Lanka in the first semifinal in Colombo.
Earlier, unbeaten Bangladesh smartly reached the semi-finals of the Under-19s Asia Cup beating hosts Sri Lanka. A brilliant century by Mahmudul Hasan Joy guided Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team to semifinal with all-win record beating Sri Lanka by 42 runs. With the feat, the young Tigers topped the Group B list securing full six points from three group matches while six-time champions India clinched the Group A title also with full six points from three group matches.
Bangladesh opted to bat first after winning the toss and scored a challenging 273 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs. After losing first wicket for 56 runs, opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy paired with two-down Towhid Hridoy and added 121 runs in the third wicket stand.
