Ensure that insurance premium doesn't go abroad: FM Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is receiving a cheque for taka 50 crore from Sadharan Bima Corporation officials on Wednesday. -AA

Sadharan Bima Corporation on Wednesday has handed over a cheque for 50 crore taka to the Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the city. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said the insurance premiums won't go to abroad. He said this while talking to reporters on Wednesday.

AHM Mustafa Kamal said that Sadharan Bima Corporation has been providing coverage in mega projects. For this reason, the company will deposit more to the government treasury. Finance Minister also said that Sadharan Bima Corporation has provided insurance coverage in mega projects like, Padma Bridge Project, Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, Matarbari Power Plant, Bangabandu Satellite etc.

Due to the capability of our insurance companies, most of the insurance premiums go to the foreign insurance companies. Now, our insurance sector has developed. If we can continue keeping the insurance premium within our country, the revenue of the insurance company will certainly increase.

A huge amount of premium money was spent on machineries, which were exported from abroad under projects. From now, it won't happen. The insurance premium which will be paid by us, we will also get the premium.

Chairman of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Chairman of Board of Directors Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Managing Director Shahriar Ahsan, members of board of directors and high officials of the corporation also attended the program.
