ACC director’s wife allegedly commits suicide
The wife of an Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) director allegedly committed suicide by setting herself on fire in the city’s Uttara.

The deceased has been identified as Tania Esrat, 43, wife of ACC director Md Yusuf.

Police quoting family members of the deceased said Tania received fetal burn injuries as she allegedly set herself on fire at her Uttara Sector-6 residence at around 9:00 on Wednesday night.

She was rushed to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries at around 10:00 on Thursday morning.

Her body was handed over to her family members after completion of post mortem at Dhaka Medical College Hospital Morgue.

Contacted, Deputy Commissioner (Uttara Division) Nabid Kamal Shaibal told UNB that a UD case has been registered with the local police station.

Replying to a query, the DC said the cause of death was not confirmed immediately.  Actual cause of the death would be ascertained after getting the autopsy report, he added.
