As many as 673 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in 24 hours till Friday morning.

Until Thursday, 3,029 patients were being treated at hospitals.
Bangladesh has been fighting an uphill battle against dengue this year. Dhaka is at the centre of the outbreak.
Since the beginning of this year, 79,367 people were hospitalized with dengue, most of them in Dhaka, until Thursday. Of them, 76,141 made full recovery, according to the government.
The huge number of patients put a severe strain on the already overwhelmed medical system.
Since January, the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) received information about 197 dengue-related deaths. It has so far reviewed 101 cases and confirmed 60 dengue deaths until Thursday.
